A-A-52014 Harrow, Disk Type, TandemThis CID covers requirements for a multi-purpose, disk type, tandem harrows, hereinafter called quot;harrowsquot;, used in the mixing of aggregate and bituminous materials with subgrade soils in progressive stabilization of military roadbeds.

3.3.1  Lifting and tiedown attachments.  When specified, the harrows shall be provided with lifting and tiedown attachments (see 7.3).

3.4  Transportability.  The harrows shall be capable of highway, rail or marine transport.

3.5  Treatment and painting.  The harrows shall be cleaned, treated, and painted in accordance with the manufacturer's standard practice.  Unless otherwise specified, paint color shall be the manufacturer's standard used for this equipment (see 7.3).

3.6  Identification and markings.  Identification and markings shall be permanent and legible and shall include , as a minimum, the manufacturer's identification code (CAGE), the contract number, and the part identification number (PIN) (see 7.1 and 7.3).

4.  REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

4.1  Recovered material.  The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

5.  QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS

5.1  Responsibility for inspection.  The contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspections (examinations and tests).

5.2  Contractor certification.  The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this CID and that the product conforms to the producer's own drawings, specifications, workmanship standards, and quality assurance practices.  Items with known defects shall not be submitted for Government

acceptance.  The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.

6. PACKAGING.  Preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 7.3).
